Arcata is a small college town in Humboldt County. It is located 280 miles north of San Francisco and is home to Humboldt State University. I moved from Southern California to Arcata to study at HSU, and I immediately fell in love with this town. It’s kind of hard not to, with the redwood forest, the beautiful marsh, the farmlands, the short drive to the beach, and the perfect weather. It’s heaven on Earth. But, just like with any town, there is more to Arcata than it’s location and geography. After a couple of months of living in Arcata, I fell in a different kind of love with the town. I got to know the humans living here. They are what make this town so special to me. Their stories are just as beautiful to me as the tall majestic redwoods in the community forest. I am here to share their stories with you. I am here to show you that #ThisIsArcata.
